In a joint press conference with his Pakistani counterpart Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Amirabdollahian said on Thursday that Tehran believes that the completion of this project is in line with the interests of the two countries of Iran and Pakistan.
He said that prior to this, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Economic Diplomacy Mehdi Safari, accompanied by an economic delegation from various ministries in Iran, had important negotiations with his counterparts in Islamabad, which led to the signing of new documents.
Amirabdollahian said that he had had constructive talks with Pakistan about the IP Gas and that Iran believes that the completion of this pipeline is in line with the interests of the two nations, and Tehran is ready to finalize it as soon as possible.
He also said that the two sides had discussed monetary and banking problems between the two countries and the ways to solve the problem according to international law.
He emphasized that Iran and Pakistan target a $5 billion bilateral trade volume
Referring to Afghanistan issues, he said that any developments in Afghanistan will affect the neighbors, especially Iran and Pakistan, adding that Tehran considers regional initiatives as the best way to resolve the issue of Afghanistan, and emphasizes supporting the people of Afghanistan as a humanitarian and religious duty.
regarding the Ukraine crisis, he said that Tehran believes that war is not a solution to the crisis in Ukraine, and considers further arming of Ukraine by the US and Western countries as worrying.
Zardari for his part said in the press conference that an example of the progress of relations between Iran and Pakistan can be the opening of the Pishin-Mand border crossing market between the two neighbors and the project to transfer electricity from Iran to Pakistan.
He pointed out that the mentioned projects show the collective commitment of the two countries to find solutions for the benefit of both countries and the first step is the development of multi-dimensional relations, especially economic ties between the two countries.
Zardari went on to say that schools, hospitals, and many other places are lit in Quetta thanks to Iran's electricity supply.
